Referring to words chosen by US Senator Cory Booker on CNN’s State of the Union former state Senator and gubernatorial candidate Ed “The Trucker” Durr took to social media to call on Booker’s words to be condemned by all.
At issue was Booker’s choice of the words, “And what I know this election can do is finally kill that strain of the Republican Party…”
“At a time when there has been an assassination attempt on the former President and the arrest of a man in Arizona for alleged death threats against former President Trump the last thing any responsible person should be saying is to ‘kill that strain of the Republican Party,’” Ed “The Trucker” Durr said. “While I don’t believe Senator Booker wants Americans killed, I do know he knows better. His words should never have been spoken.”
“I recall a time when New Jersey Democrats, led by Phil Murphy, referred to me as ‘dangerous’ for my choice of words.” Durr continued. “It’s time for Governor Murphy to condemn Booker’s dangerous words.
“I think those who want to be governor should all condemn Booker for his choice of words,” Durr said. “Unless of course, they are not from, or are hiding from that strain of the Republican Party.”

In a recent statement, political commentator and strategist David Durr criticized Senator Cory Booker’s language, calling it divisive and inflammatory. Durr, known for his sharp analysis of political rhetoric, took issue with Booker’s use of language in a recent speech where he called out the Trump administration for its handling of immigration policy.
Durr argued that Booker’s choice of words, such as “inhumane” and “cruel,” were designed to incite anger and division rather than promote constructive dialogue. He pointed out that while it is important to hold the government accountable for its actions, using inflammatory language only serves to polarize the public and hinder progress.
Durr also criticized Booker for not offering any solutions or alternative approaches in his speech, instead opting to simply criticize the current administration. He suggested that politicians should focus on finding common ground and working towards solutions rather than resorting to divisive language.
In response to Durr’s criticism, a spokesperson for Senator Booker defended his language, stating that it was necessary to call out the Trump administration’s policies for what they are – inhumane and cruel. The spokesperson emphasized that Booker remains committed to fighting for justice and equality for all Americans, regardless of their background or immigration status.
The debate over language in politics is nothing new, but it has taken on added significance in today’s polarized political climate. While some argue that strong language is necessary to draw attention to important issues, others believe that it only serves to deepen divisions and hinder progress.
As the 2020 election approaches, it will be interesting to see how politicians navigate the delicate balance between holding the government accountable and promoting unity. Whether Senator Booker’s language will continue to be a point of contention remains to be seen, but one thing is clear – the power of words in politics should not be underestimated.
