After conferring with state officials and a U.S. Homeland Security official this morning who was not on the scene but participated in the meeting, state Senator Jon Bramnick (R-21) walked out of the Rock in Ewing with no new information about New Jersey’s drone mystery.
“Nothing,” Bramnick told InsiderNJ. “Less than nothing.”
He was irritated, and frustrated.
“Unfortunately, the State of New Jersey has very little information regarding the drones being seen. The Department of Defense must investigate and until that occurs we must shut down the airspace to drones. That would require a limited state of emergency and FAA cooperation.”
Legislators and a representative of the State Police participated in the meeting where no one had anything new to say about the car-sized drones approached by state police, who observed dimmed drone lights.
The mystery continues to dog New Jersey.

Assemblyman Jon Bramnick is calling on the Department of Defense to investigate the use of drones in New Jersey. In a recent statement, Bramnick expressed concerns about the potential risks and security threats posed by drones flying over sensitive areas in the state.
Bramnick’s call for an investigation comes in response to a growing number of reports of drones being spotted near airports, military installations, and other critical infrastructure in New Jersey. These incidents have raised alarm bells among officials and residents alike, prompting calls for stricter regulations and enforcement measures to address the issue.
In his statement, Bramnick emphasized the need for the Department of Defense to take a proactive approach to addressing the drone threat. He highlighted the importance of conducting a thorough investigation to determine the extent of the problem and identify potential solutions to mitigate the risks posed by unauthorized drone activity.

He called for a comprehensive strategy that includes enhanced surveillance, enforcement, and public awareness efforts to prevent unauthorized drone flights and protect critical infrastructure in New Jersey.
The Assemblyman’s push for action on drones reflects a growing recognition of the potential dangers posed by these unmanned aircraft. As drones become more accessible and affordable, concerns about their misuse and potential for harm have escalated, prompting calls for greater oversight and regulation to ensure public safety.
In light of these concerns, Bramnick’s call for a Department of Defense investigation into drones is a timely and necessary step towards addressing the growing threat posed by unauthorized drone activity in New Jersey.
