AG Takeover Case of Paterson PD: Oral Arguments Set for Tuesday, According to Insider NJ

An Appellate Court on Tuesday will hear oral arguments in Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh’s suit to prevent the state Attorney General Matt Platkin from taking over Silk City’s Police Department.

NorthJersey.com reports that the League of Municipalities has joined the mayor’s cause to prevent the state takeover.

Engelbert Ribeiro, the Saygegh appointee ousted as police chief as part of the AG’s organizational plan for the department, and Mark Bulur, confidential assistant to the public safety director, are party to the mayor’s suit.
