Newark Mayor Ras Baraka came in second.
NJEA Prez Sean Spiller came in third.
The other candidates did not compete in Mercer.
The vote totals:
Sherrill – 224.
Baraka – 133.
Spiller – 47.
Last week, Sherrill won the support of the Hunterdon County Democratic Committee, and Baraka finished in second place.
Sherrill: 89
Baraka: 68
Sherrill beat Baraka after the pair prevailed in a crowded field on first ballot.
Hunterdon was the first Democratic Primary contest of the season, featuring a square-off among the party contenders for governor.
