U.S. Navy veteran and nationally recognized healthcare business leader Rebecca Bennett will run for the Democratic nomination for Congress in New Jersey’s 7th District next year. A working mom of two young daughters, Rebecca served in the Navy for over a decade as a helicopter pilot and aircraft commander. While in the service, she earned her M.B.A., with honors, from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, and started her family. Now she is a recognized business leader, working with mission-driven startups to advance healthcare opportunities for all Americans.
“I’ve always been driven by public service, a commitment to helping others, and a mission-first mindset—from serving in the Navy to driving innovation in healthcare. Those same values now fuel my campaign to represent the people of the 7th District,” said Bennett. “In this time when so many people are feeling uncertainty, fear, or apathy about our political system, I believe that it is critical for a new generation of leaders to step forward and do the work needed to solve problems and support the middle class. I’m running for Congress to fulfill that mission, and I’m looking forward to meeting with voters to share my vision and listen to their concerns and hopes for the future.”
The Bennett for Congress campaign is releasing an announcement video this morning highlighting Rebecca’s lifetime of public service and commitment to making New Jersey more affordable, creating better job opportunities and working across the aisle to make government work better for everyone: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toY9XHxu6Qg

Rebecca Bennett, a Democrat and long-time advocate for social justice and equality, has officially announced her candidacy for Congress in New Jersey’s 7th District. Bennett, a native of the district, has dedicated her career to fighting for the rights of marginalized communities and working to create a more inclusive and equitable society.
Bennett’s decision to run for Congress comes at a critical time in American politics, as the country grapples with issues of systemic racism, economic inequality, and political polarization. With her background in community organizing and policy advocacy, Bennett believes she is uniquely positioned to bring about positive change in Washington.
“I am running for Congress because I believe that we need leaders who are committed to putting people first and fighting for the values that make our country great,” Bennett said in a statement announcing her candidacy. “I have seen firsthand the impact that policies can have on the lives of everyday Americans, and I am determined to use my voice and my platform to advocate for those who have been left behind.”
Bennett’s platform focuses on a number of key issues, including healthcare reform, criminal justice reform, and environmental protection. She is a strong proponent of Medicare for All, believing that access to quality healthcare is a fundamental human right. She also supports efforts to address systemic racism within the criminal justice system and is committed to advancing policies that combat climate change and protect the environment.
In addition to her policy priorities, Bennett is also focused on building a grassroots campaign that centers the voices of everyday Americans. She has already begun reaching out to voters in the 7th District, hosting town hall meetings and community events to hear directly from constituents about their concerns and priorities.
Bennett’s candidacy has already garnered support from a wide range of progressive organizations and community leaders. She has been endorsed by several prominent advocacy groups, including the New Jersey chapter of the NAACP and the Sierra Club.
As Bennett’s campaign gains momentum, she is hopeful that her message of unity and progress will resonate with voters in the 7th District. With her proven track record of advocacy and her commitment to fighting for social justice, Bennett believes she has what it takes to bring about real change in Congress and make a positive impact on the lives of all Americans.
