Kim Announces Endorsements from Democratic Leaders in Mercer County - Insider NJ

Today, Congressman Andy Kim announced multiple endorsements from Democratic leaders and organizations in Mercer County. These endorsements come after Mercer County Democratic Progressive Caucus announced their endorsement last week, and after Andy earned the support of the Princeton Community Democratic Organization, winning over 90% of the vote. Mercer County’s Convention will occur later today via secret ballot.

Congressman Kim has been endorsed by the following:

  • Robbinsville Democratic Club
  • Robbinsville Democratic Committee
  • Hightstown Democratic Club
  • Diane Sandahl, Hopewell Valley Democratic Club Chair

“The grassroots energy I have seen in Mercer County since day one of my campaign for Senate has been electric,” said Congressman Andy Kim. “Thank you to those Mercer County Clubs, Committees, and rank-and-file Democrats for the support as we build a movement to restore integrity and ensure that the people are the ones who decide the next Senator from New Jersey.”

“When Republicans attacked Obamacare, Andy Kim stood up and defeated an incumbent New Jersey Republican who’d won his last race with almost 60% of the vote. Andy used his improbable win to show us how a prepared, courageous new Member of Congress can make a critical difference for our country,” said Hopewell Valley Democratic Club Chair Diane Sandahl. “That’s why we need Andy Kim as our Senator. The work ahead will be hard. It will take leaders who understand how our system of government works and the courage to protect it from the majority of Republicans who, as retiring Senator Mitt Romney said, ‘really don’t believe in the Constitution.’ I am confident that Andy Kim should be our next Senator, that he is the best candidate to win for our Democratic Party, and that he is ready to do the hard work of our democracy the moment he is sworn in as our next Senator.”

“Members of the Robbinsville Democratic Club voted, by an overwhelming majority, to endorse Andy Kim as the Democratic nominee for US Senate,” said the Robbinsville Democratic Club. “His experience, presence in the community, integrity, and unwavering commitment to public service throughout his career uniquely equip him to serve the people of New Jersey. We are proud to be Team Andy!”

“Congressman Andy Kim has exemplified service to his constituents and his country since taking office in 2019. His compassion, dedication, and knowledge will make him an ideal member of the United States Senate,” said the Robbinsville Democratic Committee.

First elected to Congress in 2018 at the age of 36, three-term Congressman Andy Kim is one of the younger members to serve in Congress and is the first Asian American elected to federal office from New Jersey. If elected to the Senate, Kim would be the 4th youngest Senator, the first senator from South Jersey in recent memory, and the first Asian American elected to the Senate from the entire east coast of America. In 2018 and 2020, he defeated two self-funding millionaires in a district carried by former President Trump, and in 2022 he defeated his third self-funding millionaire opponent by 12 points.
