Fulop for Governor Unveils Campaign Leadership Team
Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop has officially announced his campaign leadership team for his bid for governor of New Jersey. The team includes a diverse group of experienced political operatives, community leaders, and experts in various fields.
Fulop, who has been mayor of Jersey City since 2013, is running as a Democrat in the 2021 gubernatorial race. He has been a vocal advocate for progressive policies and has focused on issues such as affordable housing, education, and criminal justice reform during his time as mayor.
The newly announced campaign leadership team includes:
– Julie Roginsky: Roginsky is a veteran Democratic strategist who has worked on numerous political campaigns, including those of former New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine and former U.S. Senator Frank Lautenberg. She will serve as senior advisor to the campaign.
– Brendan Gill: Gill is a longtime political operative and strategist who has worked on campaigns at the local, state, and national levels. He will serve as campaign manager.
– Liz Gilbert: Gilbert is a community organizer and activist who has worked on issues such as women’s rights and environmental justice. She will serve as deputy campaign manager.
– Michael Soliman: Soliman is a political consultant who has worked on campaigns for numerous Democratic candidates, including former President Barack Obama. He will serve as senior advisor.
– Phil Swibinski: Swibinski is a communications strategist who has worked on campaigns for numerous New Jersey politicians, including Fulop’s mayoral campaigns. He will serve as communications director.
– Raj Mukherji: Mukherji is a New Jersey Assemblyman who represents the 33rd Legislative District. He will serve as policy director.
– Jennifer Holdsworth: Holdsworth is a veteran Democratic strategist who has worked on campaigns at the local, state, and national levels. She will serve as finance director.
In a statement announcing the team, Fulop said, “I am thrilled to have such a talented and experienced group of individuals leading my campaign for governor. Together, we will build a movement that puts the needs of working families first and fights for a more just and equitable New Jersey.”
The announcement of Fulop’s campaign leadership team comes as the race for governor heats up. Other Democrats who have announced their candidacy include State Senator Teresa Ruiz and former State Assemblyman John Wisniewski. On the Republican side, former Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli and businessman Hirsh Singh are among those running.
The Democratic primary is scheduled for June 8, 2021, with the general election set for November 2, 2021. With a strong team in place, Fulop will be looking to build momentum and secure support from voters across the state in the coming months.
